The Motor Schooner Machias departed Honolulu on 10 October bound for Christmas Island with most of the DXpedition's equipment. The departure was a bit later than planned, and will cause a delay in the planned rendezvous with the operator group, which flies to Christmas on 15 October. [TNX KL7JR] YB - Operators from Surabaya City club station YB3ZES will be active (mainly on 15 and 20 metres SSB, CW and RTTY) as 8A3M from Madura Island (Java's Coastal Islands group, OC-???) on 21-22 October. [TNX YB3KX] YU - Club station YU1AVQ will use YU130Z between 20 October and 20 November to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the Fire Brigade "Matica". QSL via YU1AVQ. [TNX 4N1DX] ZK1 - Michael, DL1MHM is active as ZK1MHM from the QTH of ZK1DD on OC-083 in the Southern Cooks. He had planned to operate from Mangaia on 12-26 October, but his radio is broken. However he hopes to be able to operate from the station of a local amateur when he moves to the Northern Cooks (from 28 October until 4 November). QSL via DL1MHM through the bureau. CONWAY REEF 2001 ---> Nils-Goeran/SM6CAS, Mats/SM7PKK, Janne/SM0DJZ, Pekka/OH1RY, Siggi/TF3CW and Steve/G4EDG will operate from Conway Reef (OC-112) on 5-24 April 2001, covering 3 full weekends and a total of 19 days of time on the Reef. This DXpedition will feature 4 complete stations (one for 20, 15 and 10m SSB; one for 20, 15 and 10m CW; one for 40, 80 and 160m, RTTY and 6m; one for 30, 17 and 12m CW/SSB) running 24 hours a day. Europe will be the main target area, but good coverage on all the bands for all areas is expected. Two more operators are needed!
